New PA Record Typical
http://triblive.com/state/pennsylvania/ ... and-county
Buck was taken with a compound on state game lands in Westmoreland County, PA measuring 185 4/8. If you watch the video, the hunter attributes his success to finding this buck’s bedding and setting up where the buck comes and goes. Just goes to show even in PA on public land if you put in the time and the work, you can find a buck of a lifetime.

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: New PA Record Typical
Just saw a post about this buck last night on FB. A monster anywhere. To set a new state typical is no small feat. It seems like NT state records get topped every few years, but the typical records seem to stay for a long time.

With a bow. On public. During the lull.
Love it.

Good for that guy, he earned it. I absolutely love the fact that he took it on public. Living in the next county over this gives me hope! Yes there are big bucks around here that's for sure. I've seen trail cam pics and dead heads to prove it.
I saw this earlier in the week and actually checked historical weather data for the kill date and area. There was an incoming high pressure system and a sudden temperature drop around 5:00 on the evening of Oct 24.

I wonder what time of day he shot it? It was the same day I saw the big 10 I was chasing around and it was a perfect moon phase day with the major from 4:45-6:45 pm.
I take my Bowhunting seriously

Awesome he shot it on state game lands. And likely an area that gets pounded being so close to Pittsburgh. Congrats to the hunter!

I didn't look at moon overhead time. It seems the timing was right to catch this buck on its feet (assuming an evening kill)
