I’ve heard good reviews about the Milwaukee heated jacket. Only problem is my hatred of batteries. But man if I find a good deal I might have to pull the trigger for one to use ice fishing.

Re: DYI Sportsman - dressing in layers
I have the Milwaukee camo heated sweatshirt. Only thing with it is you can't put too many layers on before it or you don't feel the heat. Also since it's fairly loose, If the heat pads aren't touching you, you don't feel it. One bonus to it is the battery receiver for coat has a USB port that I can charge my phone off of it so it doesn't die when I use it for GPS on my walk out.

I've got the Milwaukee amo heated jacket the thing is warm enough in 20 degree weather I never really need to turn on has big enough pockets to carry 4 12 volt batteries in with me and still have plenty of room all I wear under it is a thick turtel neck and thin zipup. I love the thing.

I use the Thermacare back wraps right on the skin on those really cold days. It makes a world of difference and they will last all day.

I have a heated hoodie. You do want it close to your body with other layers over it. It should be snug fitting to work best. I like it because I can increase the heat as it gets colder or I get colder.

I got this one because of the small battery. I have only killed a battery once. I would not buy the hunting version of it because the material is not quiet and it would be an outer layer which would not be effective if you had many inner layers.
