A friend and i have been trying to find out whether or not we can quarter and pack out a deer if we end up shooting one on our out of state trip to Indiana.
I have been going through the indiana dnr site the last week and cant find anything that says you can or cannot do it. Anybody have any insight?

Call your local DNR or conservation officer.
Edit, I see you are from WI, obviously call an Indiana CO.

Indiana has a telecheck system now. If you can check your deer in before you move it by using a cell phone you should be good.
When you have your confirmation number that you checked it in? I see no problem quartering and packing out a deer in Indiana.
I bought a frame pack for elk hunting and will use it in Indiana if need be. A friend and fellow Beast member has already done this in Indiana.
Another friend of mine calls his wife and she uses the home computer , then she calls him back or txt him the confirmation number.

Oneflag is correct, the telecheck makes this possible, I've done it a few times.

Re: Quartering and packing deer out in Indiana
Not done it yet, but plan to this year if I kill one deep on public. I've got a couple big Duluth packs that should work great for hauling out quarters. As far as I've researched, just use the telecheck system, get your number, then you're good to do whatever you want with it. The only part I dislike about packing out is leaving a pile of ribs and spine laying there, I hate for other non-hunters to stumble on that, so I plan on covering or burying remains.
