In hill country, if there are 3 different doe beds halfway up the leeward side of a hill, would you sit up hill from them, high in a tree, anticipating thermals to push their odor into the wind tunnel? I'm implying you're in a spot where your scent doesn't get pushed into the wind tunnel.
Or would you sit below them because primary buck movement is early morning and late evening, and the thermals should draw everything down hill.

Is there some reason you can't sit off to one of the sides? How about at the same elevation as the doe beds but 70-100 yards off the edge of one. You should still see the bucks that way, but not get winded.

I would hunt low early then move uphill.

The specific hill has doe bedding across it, so if I sit off the edge of one, I'll either be sitting on another bed, or over the edge of the hill, changing my wind completely. I suppose I could sit beside it. The doe bedding is roughly 40 yards from the trail the bucks travel on, and its pretty thick, so it would be tough to place shot. So you're saying I'd have to place a shot before the deer smells me instead of trying to get above the wind tunnel?
