Lower half of a Hill?
I know the top third of a hill is usually best, but what if the steepest part (military crest) is only half way (or lower) to the peak elevation? I'm thinking a hill that gradually slopes down for the top half and then has a more significant slope at the mid-way point. Is that the better spot to set up, or still hunt the top third?

You are correct.
Maybe some thick stuff up top might keep them up there but otherwise all things equal they love that section just above where it drops off steep. Even if it is lower elevation.
