King of the Swamp no more: dead head in the bed
This is my first year really using hunting beast tactics and today I was rewarded for the new dedication and learning. Found an old swamp bruiser dead in his bed, from last winter. I would have never been in this location without the help of the Beast tactics. After a morning sit over a series of buck beds on an island in the swamp, I did some scouting on my way back to the truck under the cover of rain. Found fresh beds on the other point of the island (dangit) and, about 60 yards from the road on the edge of the swamp itself, the old bed and dead head. He was sitting on the edge of the swamp facing the road, not 100 yards from a house and about 45 yards from an access area hunters use. Affirms the overlooked spots tactic and the old mature bucks bedding while watching hunter access.
The antlers are crazy massive for an Eastern MA buck. By my measurement they are 6 in circumference at the base with a 21.5 inch spread on a main frame 6 point!
Can't wait to get on his progeny in the seasons to come. Thanks to Dan, the moderators, and all of the community here for the best learning around when it comes to whitetail.

Nice. You never know what you might discover while scouting with boots on the ground.

Lockdown, I would say moderate pressure. Some goon has left multiple hangons up in the area and clearly does not care for them. One came down with a tree via beaver and has left it chained there for at least 2 years :/ it's a gorilla stand so who knows how long it's been there.
