Anyone wear brush pants for hike in?

Unread postby elite_archer » Thu Oct 05, 2017 5:28 am

Looking at buying some brush pants for hiking into my stands, and then changing my pants back as I near my stand. Anyone else do this while walking through thickets? Any recommendations on brands of pants or any advice on doing this? Thanks guys.

If they resist stickers I will give them a shot!

Yeah I pretty much have to in some places. Patagonia field pant is a nice lightweight pair I settled on. Really pleased with them. Wish a hunting company made something similar.

I just bought a pair of Cabela's instinct stalking pants. Only wore them on two hunts so far but can say they are comfortable and my legs didn't get tore up with thorns as I walked through some nasty stuff last weekend. The main pant fabric is stretchy , they are backcountry hiking pants so built for long hikes. The knee/lower thigh area has a kevlar blend material and seemed to be the only place where the stickers would attach. Easy to clean off. Hopefully they hold up. So far I like them .

What about prickly briars, burrs and stickers? Do they resist those? I'd love a pair.

If I need brush pants I'll just wear them the whole hunt. Get em in nude colors and should'nt make a difference in a tree as far as camo goes. If you hunt enough it really saves your legs and clothes!
