ETRIERS....
I must have been away from the Beast way too long. What are these and how do they benefit you? I assume it's to save on weight and on steps. I see people use three for the bottom one and sometimes two for other 2nd stick. Which is best to purchase for 1 or 3? And are they worth it?

Re: ETRIERS....
I hang a 5 foot etrier off the bottom stick and then hang that stick as high as I can reach. It gains me probably 5' and I also use that etrier as my sling to carry my sticks across my back. I use a saddle most of the time so there's no strapping the sticks to the stand.

Re: ETRIERS....
I use a two step aider off the bottom stick. Its made of tubular webbing and cobra weaved paracord. DIYsportsman has a video how to do it.
It allows me to carry 3 sticks and be as high as I need to be. I like the way 3 sticks pack on my stand, I don't like to stack my sticks. I am standing at 9 feet at the top of my first stick.
I made a second one but don't feel comfortable using it that high up yet.
I also use it to hang cameras up high. Carry one screw in step to hang it from.

Re: ETRIERS....
The advantage comes from getting higher with less weight. I can get higher with 3 sticks then I could with 4 before. I make my own aider and just a double on the bottom stick and a single on the next two. With the double on the bottom I am able to hang the stick as high as I can reach and still be able to climb it. I am able to get as high with my bottom stick as I could with 2 regular sticks. I only use a double on my first step because if you don't have your footing right you can go swinging when on both aider steps.

I found that out the hard way on a leaning tree and why I'm only comfortable with a 3 step on the bottom stick only. Thinking I will add a 1 step to the rest of my sticks.

Re: ETRIERS....
I use 5 step etriers on my sticks. I get 7.5 feet per sticks. 4 sticks puts me at 30 feet. 3 sticks at 22.5 feet, etc.

Just to be clear that's with LW Mini Sticks correct? Unless someone is like 7 feet tall they would never be able to strap a standard length LW stick to the tree with a 5 step etrier.

Any short stick works best. I prefer a 22 inch sticks with 20 inch spacing between double steps for my height. Rope attachment makes like a lot easier as well. If considering OEM (available today), I'd use the muddy sticks. They are a little shorter but very user friendly and work well with multi step aiders.

Re: ETRIERS....
I didn't know if a LW stick was too long to reach up to get it off the ground high enough. I don't have any super secret sticks. Just regular.....

Re: ETRIERS....
Here is my method for hanging the sticks high enough to get full use of the etrier/aider (at 11 minutes and 30 seconds into the video). I show a rope, but you can sort of do the same flip with a strap:

I prefer 2 step aiders for short sticks, and 1 step aiders for full length sticks.
