First year Beast mode= 1st buck ever

Fairly new to hunting and new to this type of hunting. Started the day with breakfast at friends house at 0430. friends went am hunting seen nothing while I took a nap in the truck lol I knew I would never beat the buck back to the bed. Got in stand at 1230 took my time the last 100 yards . Looked to left bedded buck at 49 yards in the cat tails at base of tree. After about 1 hour he moved to the next bed deeper into the swamp, google shows a big loop that they are making and I watched him do it. Big 10 point with very tall brow tines. plan was to wait fro him to make the loop to the staging area 20 yards from stand. at 1400 a deer came in I had very little warning took the shot through the tree branches at 15 yards. deer went 20 yards and dropped. Sweet I got a doe, Nope I got a button buck man I feel bad. Don't laugh to hard at least its my first bow kill and a buck I guess.

No way id ever laugh at that. Everyone remembers their first kill but I actually think alot about my first button buck. Ill never forget him bc is my first and still only perfect shot where I got to watch him fall. I had regrets as well bc of the age of hunting were in but no way can I down play archery kill. Great job! Every single one drives the passion and its fun being in bow range of a deer period.

Don't feel bad at all, my first bow deer was a fawn and I didn't care one bit. Success is success and its not easy with archery equipment, especially the first few deer. Congrats!
