Congratulations! I hope to be exactly where you are soon. I'm hunting public land and this is my first year with archery equipment. I haven't seen many deer in the past and am anxious to have meat in the freezer, so I'm likely to shoot the first thing I see. I'd love for that to be a doe so then on later hunts I'll be comfortable passing on young bucks.

Anytime you are following a shot deer. Unless they go only a short distance. You are seeing places that they go for cover. Places of least amount of pressure. Most of time.
