Early Season Tactics: High temps and water?

Unread postby MattyJ » Tue Sep 19, 2017 7:23 am

I have a couple areas that are surrounded by bedding and also have water. One spot in particular there is bedding to the north with a pond in between bedding and food. the edge of the pond is loaded with tracks and sign. In Kansas we have had some insanely hot temps 85-95 degrees. Would it be worth sitting near the water? I would still be in between 150-200 yards from known bedding. My worry is i am not close enough to the bedding. When I was in there a month or so go scouting at last light I saw at least 8 does and a couple of 2.5 3.5 year old bucks.

questions:
Would it be worth sitting near water in high temps?
Does any of your strategy change with blazing temps?

Any other early season deer hunting tips would be great...
