goodbye velvet

Unread postby Ashreve93 » Mon Sep 11, 2017 3:26 pm

I just wanted to see if anyone is still seeing Velvet buck out there.

Image

The guy to the left is 1/2 that remain before i completely say farewell to velvet here in Western Pa.

Anyone out there have a bunch of buck that are still in velvet?

Saw some hard horns last week of August and last week. Had two young bucks come under me Friday evening both in velvet. Pictures from trail cams are showing about half and half.

Thanks guys for the responses! It's pretty cool seeing when different areas lose their velvet. Sadly, Pa doesn't open until the 30th, so no home state velvets for me in my future.

Saw the first two out of velvet today. It is always variable. I have seen them in velvet close to October in WV.
Some do. Some don't. I just might...
