Anybody grease any of their equipment?
Like maybe a squeaking stand, or for my example, I want to grease the locking mechanism on my XOP Sticks that nest them together. I was going to use cooking oil, a drop or two and work it in. Anybody else have any other techniques or secrets?

Re: Greasing Equipment?
A lot of us that use LW/XOP take the stand apart once a year and liberally apply bow wax to all washers. I just did mine a couple of weeks ago. It really helps eliminate slight squeaks.

I don't like grease because it attracts dirt and grime sticking to everything. Bow wax is a much better option.

Graphite dust. I use it on all of my rock and tree climbing carabiners, blocks and swivels. I get it at EMS but I'm sure its available many place. It's inexpensive ,odorless and the only thing I found that works well in extreme cold and does not collect debris or dust, a must in the climbing world. Comes in a squeeze bottle like chalk for a chalk line.
