Mega buck ... to big not to share!

With the season just around the corner I thought I would share this picture of a mega giant I spotted this last Friday. When able, I drive the back roads here in Iowa looking for velvet bucks! I have found a few decent bucks this year ... but this one gave me an adrenaline rush the second I saw the body and the rack. He dwarfed all the other deer and there were a few 140's not far from him. This deer is not on my property and not able to hunt him. But happy just to lay eyes on him! The next night I took my wife's mini van with a bumper sticker saying "I break for rackcoons" on it ... to be incognetto. I made my first pass by the filed... no deer... came back 10 minutes later... there was a guy on a four wheeler tucked into the edge of a corn field facing the bean field... ready to watch the BB show! Good fortune to him! If you zoom in on buck behind him... that buck is about a 3.5 year old to give size references.

If you're not too far from there you may still have a chance at him. You never know what will happen once the velvet comes off. Plus there is always the rut.
