HAH. Just picked up a beautiful Howard hill bamboo longbow. That is point on at 20 yards. And hits center every time.

55 @ 28. And I draw 26".

Looks like I will be dividing time between the recurve and my new buddy Howard!

Sorry can't figure out how to add them here. But I did put em in the gallery.

Im on the fence. I have been wanting to hunt with my recurve again after 7 years of shooting high tech equipment. I'm concerned I won't be able to fill tags though with limited time to hunt. Wife is pregnant and due November 14. But i will follow this thread and maybe get out with the old martin x100 if i can.

Yea going to kill a doe if she comes close enough this year. After a weekend debacle last year using the recurve I have decided the next arrow released is killing a deer. She might have to be under 20 feet away though for me to feel confident. Work your way up

Made the switch from compound to longbow this year. Looking forward to taking the new Dwyer Endeavor in the woods.

I'm in. 62" Border Covert Hunter with Hex 7.5h limbs 51 lbs @ 28. Phenolic/Carbon/Buffalo cap...a real looker and a POWERHOUSE.

Also will be hunting with phenolic Morrison ILF with Max4 limbs that draws 49 lbs @ 28. Also a beauty and no slouch on power.

Arrows are 340 or 300 FMJs with 200 grain cutthroats footed with top hats. Brass and cutting to tune.

I'll keep and eye on this thread and hopefully contribute. Sold the compound a few years ago to buy a longbow and haven't looked back...well accept at some of the deer I've blown since switching

Yeah the bow is definitely a looker and whips an arrow pretty darn good too.

Havent picked up a traditional bow since I was 12 yrs old (I'm 29 now); have been shooting all summer but it only took a couple weeks worth of tinkering to get dialed in with the Endeavor out to 20 yards.

Good luck this season Hawthorne.
