These big trees are where I normally break out the saddle and screw in steps. It's the easiest way I know where screw ins are legal.

If it's legal to drill trees, use a woodpecker drill and grade 8 bolts. I've hunted this way for a while and it's a great way to get up a tree.

I usually try to catch the green 10 feet 300 pound cinch straps on sale at Walmart, local hardware or wherever and replace the straps for the sticks that I know the straps won't handle the tree. But I'm stubborn and refuse to give up the perfect tree tho. A lot of times I can pick up those 4 packs for somewhere around $6-$8
