In 40 years of hunting I've only seen 2 out of a stand - missed one and shot what I think was the same one a couple days later. All perfectly legal & licensed - they are open year round.
That being said, I would shoot one if I wasn't gonna mess up my deer hunt. I won't shoot fox or bobcat.

I have killed 2 with my bow while deer hunting, and a few more while targeting them.
They are slick and difficult to close the deal on, and I would consider them a trophy, especially with archery equipment.
Not to mention the possibility of saving a few fawns.
I will take a Coyote anytime I get the opportunity.
