Setting up in tree

Unread postby Primetime » Thu Jul 13, 2017 11:07 am

Hey guys, I was wondering for everyone who does run and gun setups, I assume a lot use lineman belts. When I have done this I always run into the issue where after I set up my stand I have to disconnect my belt so I can get it around the stand to get in which I don't like doing. Does ananyone else have this issue and figured out a way where your always connected to the tree??

Thanks!!

I carry a tether and a linesman belt. I will stand on top step hook my tether to the tree then hook my tether to my harness then unhook my lines man belt and hop in the stand

So do you have a tree strap with you that you connect to the tree first then connect your teather to that and your harness?

I use sn extra LW strap as my linemans belt. Once the stand is set I attach my lone wolf rope above the stand and clip onto it. I then use my lw strap for the bottom of stand if needed or put in my back (with carabiners).

I also use a LW strap as an extra linesman belt with carabiner attached so I am always connected.

Ok great! So basically the same thing as using an extra linemans belt which is what I was gonna do (cause I have 2). Thanks for the advice!

3 points of contact. Ik that's not pc here. BUt sometimes it's the only way. I'm rarely connected to the tree when setting up.
