So how high do you guys that hunt the thermal tunnel get in the tree? How high do you feel you need to get in order to be above that mixing zone? Ik it varies but what are you guys comfortable with? Do you look at the crest of the hill or is it just as high as you can get and hope you're above it.

I prefer to be high... Up into the actual wind stream if possible. If you watch the hill country Extreme whitetail episode, you will see me get busted. Its tough to hunt that area. High as you can still feel comfortable about getting good kill shot angles. Better yet though, is to find a weak link along that travel, like a draw, or big rocks, or fallen trees, etc. that make the deer funnel around and out of the tunnel area.
