Just trying to figure out why that shot didn't kill that deer? It looks high but a hard down angle should have put the broadhead into atleast 1 lung? Unless it stuck the backbone and didn't penetrate enough to spine him? Or you caught the shoulder blade? But it doesn't seem like you did.

Those low wide bucks are deceptive, usually go lower in score than first guess. Just like the tall tight bucks go higher than a person thinks.

i shot to far forward, the way it happened it was hard down angle shot. 6 inches back and he would have been toast. Dates wrong.

Gotcha. Didn't realize the steep down angle. Yea those big expandables and shoulder blades do not mix. Wonder how many thousands of deer that happens to every year across the US. Good luck after him this fall!
