I almost always have a pair of froglegs on over a pair of cargo pants. They just work for me and I have beat the life out of a pair with mucks on them and they still repel the briars and brush. They are not longer waterproof but give you some protection if you need to cross a creek or stream. The stonecreek stuff that was mentioned is good and there are several other brands of them out there. Id get a pair with lacrosse grange boots for 90% of warmer scouting wear.

Scouting pants.......that's kinda funny.

Actually I pretty much wear what I do while hunting in lightweight camo. Even while scouting I like to be in full camo because I don't like advertising where I am. Some clothing you can easily see from a mile away. I probably go thru more hunting clothing using it dual purpose but in the end quality stuff will easily stand out above the rest.
