Make sure you can put your hands on it prior to purchase. Maybe you already have. Its a great gun, but its basically a target rifle. Pretty bulky & heavy. I like that kind of gun but many guys don't. Take weight and accuracy all day long over some lightweight feather where the crosshairs drift all over the target. Go for it if that's what you want too.

I don't own one but have shot one a few times, really liked it. The kind of gun that when you line it up - you know whatever you are aiming at is in trouble! Don't know much about loads it likes, but supposed to stabilize larger sabots and conicals pretty well.

I've always been paranoid about buying muzzle loaders without being able to inspect them. So easy to ruin if you don't take care of them. But that's a really good gun if it was cared for.

I really liked mine. Very accurate once I found what the barrel liked.

Sold mine once I stopped smoking and built a few smokeless poles.

There was a local one that just sold last week. Guys that are familiar with them and still shoot smokers grab them pretty quick if theyre selling for a good price

Good luck

If the old is like the new I think you would be very pleased. I purchased the first disc Muzzleloader way back when and loved it. Heavy, sort of, but with the pipes I HAVE, not much of a worry;)
