Bucks BeWare Outfitters

Unread postby huntinfool14 » Thu Jan 06, 2011 3:06 pm

i booked a hunt earlier this year in pike county..and i ended up with Bucks BeWare..i couldnt have picked a better place..the weather isnt the best late season weather iv had before, its been around 30 degrees, and absolutly no snow..but on the first evening of my hunt, i missed 2 coyotes and was pretty bummed..the next morning(January 5th) i was sitting a bedding area with two great big ditches on both sides of me..it was about 10 A.M. and i texted the guide to come get me just when i turned around, i had 2 fawns at about 30 yards with this buck trailing..i quickly texted the guide not to come and got ready...as this buck was entering i decided not to shoot because his main beam was broke off..after watching the deer feed at 40 yards for 30 minutes, the guide and i were texting back and forth if i should shoot it, its definetly a mature 4 yr old deer and 2 guys had missed this buck during the rut..just then the 2 fawns bedded down 15 yards from me and the buck was just about to do the same thing, but before he did that i stuck him with a rage 2 blade at 32 yards and he only ran 40 and tipped over..so say i was excited was an under statement..i knew what this buck looked like buts its just a freak looking deer, the left antler scored 69 3/8 inches, and we gave it a 16 3/8 spread..the buck doenst score high but the bases measured 5 4/8 inches and 7 7/8 inches..bucks beWare outfitters is a great place with some major giants! if anyone is looking for a place to hunt pike county..this place has it all! great lodge, huge bucks, great people...the buck i was actually hunting this morning was a typical 12 that would score in the mid 180's..im just lucky the horns didnt fall off while i had to drag it :D
