OnX was my favorite app. When I updated it yesterday, the new version has less topo and satellite map options than the older version.

It is the best for navigating, as it was originally made to be a hiking app, so I love it for recording scouting tracks and finding my way to and from tree stands. Also, the pro version has public land overlays and a number of other useful hunting related maps, not to mention weather radar, USGS topo maps, multiple satellite views, open source maps, and 3d overlays. It is also great for scouting because I can quickly save photographs of deer sign as waypoints and export them into Google Earth with the click of a button.

I also have Hunstand. I like the hunting specific features it offers, but it isn't as good for navigating and I find the screen too dark to easily view during bright daytime out in the field. Since I've upgraded to GAIA pro I doubt I'll be using Huntstand anymore. Considering it is free though, it is great if you are not looking to spend money.

Tried Onxmaps, once again not as good as GAIA overall, imo (yet far more expensive). However it does show you property boundries & ownership as well as private land which is open to public hunting, which can be nice features that GAIA doesn't offfer. However, I can easily find that info in my laptop, so I don't need it in an app.

Other random apps:
HuntWI - tells me when hunting hours are for that day, weather, and a few other helpful tidbits.
Time2HuntLite - for lunar info.
Dominos: Sometimes You never know when the craving will hit. Luckily they have a special delivery notes sections where I can leave instructions like, "Creep in quietly from the creek on the leeward side of my stand."

I can't find the GAIA PRO version on the iphone app store...

Any links by chance ? All I see is free 7 day trial and another GAIA for 19.99

Here is the link: https://www.gaiagps.com/gaiapro/

It is the same app, but once you pay to subscribe you are then given access to the full range of maps and a few other features.
