r u a lone wolf?
How much time do you spend deer hunting with others? I think its great when people have the opportunity, especially if kids are involved. Hate to admit it, but I'm a Lone Wolf- I really have no interest in hunting with others unless it'll save me a lot of money. The wife would call this my "anti-social" propensity.

Re: r u a lone wolf?
In the woods I'd say I'm a lone wolf. I do share a hunting camp with a few friends in SD and NE. We see each other at night. If someone scores and needs help then we all jump in and help. Other than that, we cover such a huge area, that we never really hunt close together.
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

I Lone Wolf it.
Like what Andrae said in the Marsh Buck DVD, "It's nice to hunting with friends and family but when you bring more than one guy in touchy areas, it's like a broken spoke on a wheel."

Bowhunting = Loner.
Gun = Maybe 25% or less.

Re: r u a lone wolf?
The woods I hunt (70 acres field, 50 acres woods) Is owned by my dad. My brother, his wife and myself hunt It. My brother don't hunt It nearly as much as he's got a great honey hole to hunt but here and there he does. This woods gets way over hunted!! Bear hunting, we all hunt together their as well but most times were anywhere from 2 miles to 25 miles apart.

I concentrate better when alone and generally have better results. But still enjoy hunting occasionally with friends.

Bowhunting yes I am a lone wolf. As for gun hunting no I am not
as it is the only time of the year it seems we can get family
and friends together at the same time.

Re: r u a lone wolf?
I picked 25% as the only tag along I have is my 9 year old son. Sometimes the wife hunts in stands i pick for her but that time has been drastically cut for her because of our 3 year old daughter.
If not for our son I would be 100% bow and gun by myself.

Can't go out in public with these guys, but occasionally they come in handy for dragging...

Nice pic Spy... Reminds me of shooting a deer way back in the middle of the marsh and spending 1/2 the night dragging it out by myself. Its at that point you wish a buddy was hunting with you.

Re: r u a lone wolf?
Most of bow season I'm lone wolf, I just have more success that way. Gun season is my time to hunt with friends, by that time I have an urge to be around people because bowhunting alone all season gets to me.
