Man that's tough. I have no idea what I would have done. That's definitely a gamble

Yes, this year when I went to ky. I let an 8 walk that here in Ny I would of let the carbon fly. Sign that I was seeing from last year had my hopes up for something bigger.

Nice deer Maine! That would be very hard for me.

Tbunao...Did you have just one tag or one allowed buck? I could see easily getting into that dilemma. We get 3 allowed bucks and I've already used one on my first bow kill a few days ago with a 3pt. This would have and should have been my second then I could have held off for something possibly much bigger.

X2

I would not think twice about sending an arrow his way! And if that missed the bow would of been right behind it!

Same thing. I've shot some smaller 8s and a few 6s that I regretted. I guess regret letting them walk is better since if they live, they'll be bigger and if that's his home range I have a leg up for next time. It was a great learning experience to see how an older buck bedded and responded to my presence.

Definitely... the one I let walk has some serious potential. This season just didn't go my way, but I'm starting to get on some big deer and that's all that matters.

Yup. But I also haven't passed one and then later shot a bigger one. Maybe if that happens I'll change my tune a bit.

No regrets. I live in the moment and if I don't say to myself "Wow, he's a dandy" when I see him, he doesn't get shot.

I don't know how to define that to someone else. It's not a "Score" I try to judge in the field, I guess the buck just has to impress me and look mature.

I have shot all the 2.5 yr old bucks I ever care to shoot, so most deer will have to be 3.5 years or older and have the "WOW" factor for me.
