The buck that just won't stay dead

Unread postby magicman54494 » Mon Dec 12, 2016 7:20 am

This is a story that borders on the bizarre.
In 2012 I tracked down and killed a large 8 pointer in the U P of Michigan. The story of that hunt was entered in the hunting contest on the beast that year. The story ends there. Right? No!
Just a few days ago I receive a personal message from a new member on the beast. He tells me briefly that my buck was shot in New York state just two weeks ago and was stolen. He tells me that the exact picture of the dead buck was taken by the hunter at the site of the kill. He tells me the hunter left the deer untagged and not field dressed to get a rope to drag it out. Upon returning the deer is gone. He further claims the hunter called the wardens, placed the pictures on facebook, and even hung posters of my deer trying to get it back. Then someone saw my buck pictures on the beast and the fun begins! No one actually outright accused me of theft but I was told many people believed it was his deer. The hunter would not talk to me about it. I was told the hunter closed down his facebook account after I found out about the story.
I know the hunter was telling a big lie and I really didn't care except the story was making me look bad. I was told his wife was even convinced that the dates were changed on the hunting contest as a cover up. Since the hunter wouldn't talk to me I relayed messages thru a third party. I told him I would do whatever it took to get him to admit that I really didn't steal his buck.
I finally received a call from the hunter. The story he told me was a lot different than the original story I was told. Things just didn't add up but I don't care because he admitted to me that my buck was not the buck he supposedly shot. he said he was sorry if it caused me any problems. He even went as far as offering to join the beast and make a post saying that I didn't steal his deer. He promised to post a retraction on his brothers facebook page... we will see.
I will probably never get the full truth of what really happened in New York nor do I care as long as I'm not mixed up in it. Hopefully my deer is finally dead for good!

Crazy that people get driven to do stuff like that... so did he see the pic of your deer and try to makeup a story thinking it would end there, like a little white lie that went viral??

I don't know the whole truth so I won't speculate. It would't surprise me if you are on the right track.

Man that is insane!!!! I've never heard such crap as that. Anyone that knows or has read your post and the knowledge you share on here knows that is made up and there is no need for a hunter like yourself to take someone else's deer. Crazy

It is my understanding the picture being used is the one in the contest of the deer laying on the ground. I'm told the exact picture. I never saw his pics because his facebook account was closed down.

Crazy...... I would have probably just ignored the clown. The truth is easy to remember.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

HEADLINE READS: "Magical" buck reappears several years later to be killed again! LOL

Guy wants to get some love for a deer he never shot and chose the wrong picture to mess with.
