killed two spikes in self deffence

so the other day I went out hunting with a friend right on the SC NC border it was drizzling that morning wasn't expecting to see a whole lot of anything but we went out anyways. I found me a spot to sit for the morning hours looking across a small valley in some mountain laurel I sat for about 45 mins and I spotted some movement and puled up the binoculars and it was a eight point that was close to being a shooter by I passed he was with three does so I sat there for about 30 more mins and decided to move to where they cam,e from it got so thick I started sniper crawling and found a pretty beaten up run so I sat right on it and again could see a little bit across the valley I sat there for about 30 mins and I hear something coming from my left then he came into sight and it was a spike well he came right down the run and stepped on my left leg well it hurt a little so I moved my leg well he jumped and did a 180 squatted down and started blowing and snorting well it got me a little worried so I shot him a point blank range my barrel was only about 2 inches off his fur sat there waiting for him to die when I heard some more noise from my left so I looked and sure enough here comes another spike so the whole thing replayed along with stepping on my leg so I shot him at point blank range also but morel of the store I was mad that I passed the 8 point to just come out with two spikes

ya justdirtyfun it was one of the wildest things I have seen and it wasn't like they were together they came at different times

My bowhunting from the ground has been neglected recently and will try to get up close and personal more lol.

I have a real have a real hard time believing this story. Is it even legal to kill spike bucks in NC or SC?
