So when it the secondary rut going to happen? Around the 10th of December?? How many guys have capitalized on it? What pointers do you have? What are the differences you've notice from the primary rut? Thanks in advance.

Re: Secondary rut..
From what I have observed:
- Little to no "chasing"
- I see more seeking bucks though they are moving at a slower pace
- Movement tends to be closer to first and last light but that may be my location as I'm limited on tree choices. I have seen it mid-day and early afternoon in other locations.
- I have better luck in areas where I've seen lone fawns during the rut. I also like doe travel routes between bedding and food. The young does coming into estrous don't seem aware enough to hide or run from seeking bucks unless they're in a doe group.
I'd like to hear if others see the same things or if they disagree with anything.

Focus on food and does now, in that order, they usually go hand in hand.

Re: Secondary rut..
I've seen more big bucks standing stupid in the open that time of year. Down here they're a little less cautious because there isn't anyone in the woods anymore. After Thanksgiving, very few people deer hunt. Great time to hunt here. Less intense than the first rut. If I had to pick a date, December 10th - 12th would be my guess.
