I have had that happen adjusting the sensitivity of a release. Adjust it until it pops you in the mouth and then go back the other way.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Yikes. HapPened to me during a turkey season. Release was dirty. Fired arrows all overy the place.

That sucks when you put that much effort into the hunt for something like that to happen. But as Dan always says, learn from the positive things that happened, like how you were able set up on a big buck on public land!
