Shoulder blade hit

Unread postby hunter_mike » Fri Nov 11, 2016 10:30 am

The buck i shot on oct 31st, i hit in the shoulder blade. 2.5 yr old buck i think. I got penetration up to the fletchings. He died really fast. Arrow was a fmj with a 3 blade muzzy. I am glad it penetrated but i feel if it was a larger buck or if i had hit the center portion of the scapula i may not have been as lucky. No real point to this post just something i was thinking about.

Here is his shoulder blade:

That part of the shoulder blade isn't really a problem...like you said...that big joint is.

Most the shoulder blade is really thin and not much of an issue...

Good well built cut on contact head. With enough FOC that's not a surprise.
