Re: Hit one.
Not so good news......I am devastated right now. Thinking this would have been my biggest. Went in at daylight, and found my arrow right away. Pass thru. Mostly covered in blood but also some tallow. I found a handful of coarse white hair and some that was tipped with brown where I shot him. Thick hair. Thinking maybe lower rib-cage. Had good blood trail for about 50 yards then lost it. I found a 6 inch puddle of blood on the trail. The hair and that puddle lead me to believe I hit low. Maybe low brisket. Hands and knees allowed me to find 3 more droplets of blood in the next 20 yards. Then Nothing. Looked until 10 o'clock , walking every possible trail. Then went home and got my dog and looked till dark. I hit him in a 10 acre woodlot that is bordered by a busy highway. Walked both ways along the highway fence for a long ways. And walked every inch of that woods and all the fence-lines. Possible he jumped the highway fence and ran across, but I doubt it. Hopefully he recovers, but not so sure I will. Been in the stand day and night for the last 10 days. Taking a break and be back at on the weekend.

Sorry to hear that. I would have thought dead deer the way it sounded. Must have been too far forward in the shoulders and not in the cavity.

Yep...I thought he was done for. Thought it was gonna be an easy recovery. I guess ya never know. I think he was quartering away much harder than I thought. Low light conditions....No excuses though, I blew it.

Re: Hit one.
That is a bummer. If there is a water source in the area I would check that before you loose all hope.

Re: Hit one.
My initial reply I deleted before posting it. I have hit two bucks who reacted similar and niether was fatal. One was a high shoulder hit. The other must have been low brisket and clipped some tendon or muscles in the leg. Just judging from reaction and white hair on arrow... And the fact that my bow was shooting 6" low at 20 when I checked it again.
Sorry man. I was hoping your outcome would be different.
