Anyone know more about a 7 x 7 potential WR from Iowa?
I saw pics this morning on FB of a giant, very thick 7 x 7 killed in Iowa with a bow. It was on the Field and Stream page. Only one abnormal point and appears very symmetrical. To me it looks like it will gross 215-220. Not so sure it will net higher than the Hanson buck, but Mel Johnson's WR might be in trouble. I'd post pics but can't figure out from my phone.

Send the pics to me per PM I'll post them up.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

When they get that huge it's hard to give an accurate estimate off pictures.

Here is all I found on it so far........
World-Record Iowa Whitetail?
We know. We've seen our share of would-be world records, too. So nobody is telling Milo Hanson to move over. But take a good look at this colossus. Our friend Tony Sehman at Thunder Ridge Outfitters in Southern Iowa (iowadeerhunts.com) tipped us off to this enormous buck, taken just down the road from him in Truro, by a young hunter named Austin Pontier. Early rumors put the deer anywhere from the high 190s to 230 gross. If it proves nearly as big as it looks in the photo, Pontier's buck will have at least a shot at Mell Johnson's 51-year-old archery, typical world record of 204-4/8. Maybe even Hanson's all-time mark. Maybe.

Shooting them that young when they have so much potential is such a waste. That kid needs to have some composure and pass on that deer. He also needs to give me his address and gps coordinates so I can go an assess the situation!
That thing is unreal!

I cant stand outfitters they just lie and say stupid stuff to get people to book with them. It was shot a good ways from Truro. I'd say it's going on fall short of records but it's a giant and congrats to the young kid.

My guess would be about 205 net. Just my best guess. Don't shoot the messenger.
