My November 3rd find

I was hunting one of my buck beds on public land. I gave it one night and one morning. When nothing showed I decided to move. When I came upon a decent looking transition I just thought it looked "Bucky" so as I was looking for a tree, I came upon this!!

it has to be from this year, I hunted the area for 2 days without seeing a deer. Ive moved on now. I didn't shoot the biggun yet, but there out there....somewhere!!

His spread was 20 1/2 and he grossed out at 177 and netted 169 1/8. Just missed Boone & Crockett, not that I care because I didn't shoot him. I just wonder how he died, it's a shame, was he poached and made it to where he did, bad shot from a hunter maybe. Who knows, what a waste. He has a home now though, I will take good care of him.

Did you clean up the skull already? Otherwise if you didn't that buck had to have been dead for a while as clean as it is. I would lean toward last year even....I don't think I have seen a bare skull less than a year old. Usually there is still hide stuck on it and takes a full summer to rot off.
