Midwest forecast - will it change your plans

Unread postby GoetzC » Tue Nov 01, 2016 9:10 am

For those of you planning to pick your hunting sits/days by the weather... how is the mild forecast for the midwest affecting your plans?

Looking at my area of MN we're basically in the low 60s for the next week and then slowly drop to the low 50s over the next week. Some sunny, some overcast, etc...

I'm very limited on how many times I can get out in the next few weeks so I need to carefully pick my hunts and trying to pick days factoring in the weather, moon, with my work schedule is proving to be very frustrating. Plus the orange army hits the woods this weekend as well.

Same here. Vacation is set so time to hunt. Anything can happen at anytime during the rut. Gotta be on stand to kill one. Trying to think positive.......at least I won't be freezing my but off.

If it don't work out here in Iowa this week I will be back for 10 days over Thanksgiving. Should be good and cool then. Really nice gun season starts in December. 8-)

I'm not hunting the MidWest this year but I did change my dates off from this week and next to this upcoming Saturday- November 17.
If you want to kill a deer you have to be in the woods.

I usually spend a week in the woods starting this Tuesday but pushed it ahead a week. I'll be heading down November 8th to central Illinois for 5 days ad the weather looks to start getting cooler then. I was going to head down this weekend again for a day and a half but high is in the 70s again. Deer will be moving at night so I'd rather wait a couple days plus I know my wife wouldnt mind me being around an extra night.

Now I'll just be checking the weather 2x a day for the next week.

I pushed my vacation back a week because of the warmer weather. I hunted all the last weekend including Thursday and Friday without seeing much at all. Should pick up this Friday down here in Southern Illinois.

I'm going to have to remind myself to bring bug spray. Dear God, next year can we please get an early November with below average temps and dry weather? Sincerely, john1984

Deja vu of last year huh. Guess I didn't need to bring all my cold weather clothing.
