Hot sign

I have a rookie question. In the Hunting Marsh Bucks DVD they mention setting up on hot sign right when you see it. They also mention warm sign. What all would be considered hot sign? I assume warm sign is just older sign? I think I have a grasp on this I just want to check to see if I am right.

Fresh tracks (crisp edges on the track imprint), scrapes with no leaves in them, rubs with fresh shaving at the base, licking branches freshly chewed or twisted by a rack, fresh droppings, tracks into, out of, or near bedding.
