when thermals are dropping do bucks travel on the windward side of hills opposite of rising thermals? In the middle of rewatching all 4 videos haven't seen anything mentioned.

Like anything in deer hunting there is never an always but "most" of the time from what I see if it is an area that has hunting pressure on it the bucks will drop down off the point he is bedding on to the valley and he can check the area for danger as the scent comes down from all directions. There is not so much in my belief a travel zone based on thermals falling. The deer is gonna head out to what ever it is on his mind at that time. Best way to figure his travels out from the bed is locate his tracks. Check any little creek in the valleys or field edges or any softer surface that may show his track. If you know where the bedding area is and can locate tracks leaving that area then you are have just gathered some valuable intel. Other means of sign tell the story as well, which way the rubs face is often a good indication of his entry/exit route.
