Deer & deer hunting mag....

Unread postby dan » Fri Dec 24, 2010 4:58 am

A friend who is an outdoor writer asked to do an article about this years gun buck and the tactics used. He got the ok from Deer & deer hunting mag.
Don't know when it will appear. Let us know if anybody sees it. I like D&D but never subcribe cause we print it where I work and I usually can snag a copy.

Funny you bring up D&DH, was just digging for an article on line from 12-06 written by Charles Alsheimer called "What it takes to become a really good deer Hunter". Awesome article, you got any contacts to find this?

Cool stuff on getting your article on there, lemmie know when it comes about, I'd like to read it.

Not off the top of my head..I have the magazine at my school place, so when I go back after break I'll look and let ya know..

It basically talked about how you hunt bedding areas, and there was a story in there about you killing a deer that bedded under a fallen tree by a pasture or something, and it mentioned "free hunts" when it rains, and how many of the deer you kill are deer that nobody even know existed..

It was a good read..I'll get back to ya on it.

Aaahh.. That explains it. I suspect that article was done by Mark Hick's. He interviewed me about a year ago about the differences between deer with large home areas and deer that stay in tight areas. I would like to get a copy of that magazine if anybody has a copy they dont want.

The D&DH article was someone interviewing you, right Dan?

Have you ever written articles on a consistant basis for a hunting magazine before? Like on a editor's list or something like that.

The article about this years hunt is being done by Dan Durbin.
Both him and Mark Hicks have done numerous articles about me.

My personal articles used to get published in several magazines but I kind of gave that up... Most of the stuff in recent years has been outdoor writers interviewing me for storys.
