Binoculars. Who carrys them?
Ok guys thinking of just using my rangefinder instead and leaving my binoculars at the truck just one less thing to carry and it allows me to get to more pockets not being on my chest. What do you guys do?

On observation sets I will carry Binos to stand but on most hunts they just stay in my truck. Most of my hunts binos aren't really needed because it's usually in thicker areas where visibility is limited.

I always do. I try to leave them and then it's always the night I may need them. Just part of the ritual now.

Re: Binoculars. Who carrys them?
I usually don't...but often wished I did. Lol.
My rangefinder is dark and has a small fov and makes it hard to see much in terms of detail unless it's a nice sunny day...
Theres been lots of times I'd look and realize that weekend shape really is a deer..saves me from getting caught sitting down or busted because I was moving when a deer was coming..
Also nice to get a view of the rack and know if it's a shooter or not before it gets in range..

Pretty much never, I can never see far enough where they would be useful. I do have the range finder if I need a little mag.

Re: Binoculars. Who carrys them?
I bought a Vortex monocular. Its alot more compact than carrying binocs. It easily fits into a pocket.
Obviously if youre going to be looking through them for awhile i would use binocs but most of the time i just need something to get a quick glance at whatever im looking at. I can usually tell pretty quick if its a shooter or not.

Always. I find them very useful in tight thick areas. Was that flash a bird or an ear or antler.

Re: Binoculars. Who carrys them?
Advantage of binos in a more open area, say over 75 yards is the possibility of catching that glimpse and relocating or have that Intel moving forward.
I typically hunt thick areas where 75 yards is a very long distance, so majority of the time they are in my Diddy bag...

Re: Binoculars. Who carrys them?
Year around I am never without binos. The best scouting tool I own for putting a plan of attack together.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Binoculars. Who carrys them?
I always carry binoculars, I use them often on the way in identifying sign to try to determine to push further of setup. I find them useful when setup in both open and thick cover.
