As I sit here in very strong NW wind I question if bucks still will travel on the typical 1/3 military crest on very windy days? Does this cancel out their ability to scent check both high and low? I know there is another parallel trail downslope about 100 feet of elevation and wondering if I may be better off setting up down there?
This is one of those times that my scouting tells me I need to be where I am but my gut is telling me to drop lower and get in more manageable winds.
What do you guys think?

Re: Hunting thermal tunnel on windy days
I saw this question discussed about this time last year. I believe the concensus was that stronger winds made the thermal tunnel stronger because the wind would pull on the thermals.

I let it go and it's gone in about 2 seconds screaming straight to the SE.
Seems like very little thermal updraft on the cooler east facing slope.
