Ok guys I have been wanting a new gps I currently have an etrex 20 and like it I just dont like that it doesnt show topo and the mappings pretty limited. What do you guys like? Got a $300 cabelas gift card but don't mind putting some money with it if need be.

Here you go and with money left over to put towards a Onxmap chip for your state.

Can't beat that price. Me personally I hate touch screens when it is cold out. I bought the 64s this year with the onx maps and I love it. Just make sure to get the ultimate lithium batteries as well

X2 to this. Great unit if you don't want a touch screen.

No or doesn't come with topos. It comes with the WorldWide Basemap which is very very basic.

From the Q&A section on the Cabelas website:
If it ways Worldwide then it includes highways for SOME parts of the world. However, the BASE is just that, only a Base map. It does not include most roads or streets, ONLY the major highways. In almost every case you will need to buy another map for the locality that you want to use it. Like in the states you can but a map called "City Navigator® North America NT" that will include MOST of the streets and highways.

Bob
For Europe you can but maps for specific countries, and/or regions. Example I have one that covers all of Western Europe buy not Eastern Europe.

onxmap has topos. The only issue I have with the map is the lack of road names. If you are looking for a spot based on road names, good luck

i bought the oregon 600 last year, i downloaded topo maps for free from gpsfiledepot. I also have onxmaps for my cell phone for the state i live in and theyre both about the same quality. Ive never used any sort gps before and i struggled to figure it out at first but the onx app couldnt be easier to use

The reason I am being so specific in topo is beause in northern michigan where I hunt there is suttle or rolling hills and their massive woods with a few slashings otherwise the whole thing looks the same from an airial
