Does Blowing ruin hunt???
I set up about 125 yards from a high spt in a marsh where deer bed. A doe read the script and walked past pretty early and starting blowing at me and then cobtinued past me. In your experience will this cause the other deer to stay bedded til after dark?

Hard to say for sure, just sit it out and see what happens.

Throw a couple grunts, any deer within earshot will think a buck is just harassing some does.

Re: Does Blowing ruin hunt???
I have had deer blow at me while I was on my way to my stand before daylight. An hour or two later I killed a deer and before I did I saw multiple deer I could have killed. I don't worry too much about it

I had 5 does blow at me walking into the stand this afternoon. 30 minutes later, 2 came back by right under the stand. Put one of those down. so, sometimes I could see it ruining the hunt but today it didn't.

Re: Does Blowing ruin hunt???
Last year I had two does blowing at me during the rut for about 5 minutes. I kept grunting back at them. It drew it a yearling buck and a mature one I couldn't get a shot at

Re: Does Blowing ruin hunt???
My opinion; way better of if you don't get blown at. That said a couple hrs later its mostly forgotten. A big old buck knows something is not normal when an old doe is carrying on. I have seen does blow at bucks during the rut but not very often. Plus its not a constant blow like when an old doe busts you. I can't ever remember killing a good buck after a doe raised cane at me!!!
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Exactly what I do! Have killed a few bucks after being blown at. Of course I'd rather it not happen and I do believe has hurt me many times but it all depends on what heard her blow. Hours later everything could be right back to normal but set up close to bedding and have a doe blow, it lights a fire under me so bad I can't stand it. I still try to let off a few grunts soft grunts trying to make the buck think there is a young buck harassing her. If you happen to read the little write up about my dad and his kill this past week, he had a doe blow at him early in the morning. Around 7 am ish. 8am he had an arrow in the buck. Odds are he wasn't around to hear the doe blowing as he was working his way back to bedding

Re: Does Blowing ruin hunt???
No it's no reason to ever end the hunt short . Especially during the rut . Friday my son got busted by two doe while standing up . They snorted and blew at us three times . I was already watching another doe in a thicket behind me at 70 yards. She never showed any sign of being alarmed . Then 15 min later a young buck got up from bedding to our right and walked by us at 30 yards . So Most of the time I'd say No.

In my experience, no, it won't kill a hunt. Like others, I try to avoid it obviously, but I've seen many deer after being blown at. During the rut, I've actually had it draw in bucks... Had one last year, she blew at me for several minutes, only to be found and chased the rest of the day by bucks.

Re: Does Blowing ruin hunt???
I hate them when they blow. Every deer in the woods hears it. I had a doe blow at me few weeks ago. Spooked her off guard on a field edge. I hid behind a line of brush and pulled out my bleat can and made some noise with that, and the doe actually came right back. Almost got a shot on her but she got close enough to know I wasn't a fawn in distress.

Re: Does Blowing ruin hunt???
I'd prefer it not happen, but I did kill a decent buck after having a doe blow at me for what seemed like 5 minutes straight. This was a couple of hours later.
