The day or 2 before it hit the woods were absolutely on FIRE...and it was before any kind of rut action to speak of...it was mind blowing action..deer were just running around like kids playing..it was crazy...

I had several bucks bed 75yds away for a while...then all the sudden deer were running all around like mad..

I have no doubt that storm caused it...

Yup I remember the same exact thing seeing mature bucks out feeding well before dark.

Question - are you fellas in Michigan or Wisconsin in a position to take advantage of an increase in deer movement caused by this hurricane? If so, how, and on what day? Ive never paid attention to this kind of stuff but wondering if I can learn from some of you beasts closer to me on Ontario if there is a time to be on stand this weekend.
Hope everyone in the affected area is safe with a speedy recover and minimal damage...

My dad is out...as of half hour ago he's seen 17 different deer in about an hour and a half..atleast 3 small buck and one he called a monster just out of range...

He's hunting a lower deer density area...I haven't checked the barometric pressure bit wondering if the storm isn't the cause...

I know I'm trying to get out of work early and get in a tree...

Yeehaw!

It's been awhile. Forgot how much work hurricane prep is. Hoping this thing clears out Friday so I can get in the woods sat-sun.

First year bowhunting, so first year ever trying to hunt this early in the year. I was gonna take my time this weekend finishing the bow setup in preparation for "good weather" next week, but now I'm trying to get out of here early and straight to the bowshop and range to finish up! Hope to be in stand tomorrow morning.

On locations, would you guys recommend setting up along the early season Food-to-Bed routes, close to food, or more of what I call a 'deer hangout area' ?

Got three families at the house now so when I got put on emergency status I wasn't to upset it is a freaking mad house at my place. Mowed my property and the neighbors property today because if we get the amount of rain they are saying it might be dec before the low areas are able to be mowed again. Sent the wife to the store for hurricane supplies! She came back with 6 cases of beer, 4 bottles of wine, and a bunch of party snacks. I said what happened to water, batteries, real food? She said if it gets that bad we will raid you hunting stash! Never should have let her in there!!!!

You said you have a man cave. Go disappear in it and lock the doors. Now you better put a lock on your food storage locker as well.

It's been wild down here, I75 has been slammed with trucks Northbound. Should be interesting to see if it hugs the coast or come NW towards us here in South GA. Y'all stay safe down there, things are gonna get interesting.
