Kicked right in the teeth!

Unread postby mainebowhunter » Thu Sep 08, 2016 5:28 am

Well...now know why the pics just all of a sudden stopped and all the bucks shifted. Some homeless guy or something decided to build an igloo.

Image

This was built right smack in the middle of the bedding area. Beds, rubs, ground scrapes. Big bucks were living here. Could not find any big tracks...just void of sign. I now know why. I am a mile back in this woods. Just a phenominal looking spot.
There are probably 100 old rubs around his house lol.

Good news is...getting them .75 mile in another section. Talk about stacking the beds. So that kind changes a bunch. 100% sure thar guy pushed those bucks out. I mean the pictures totally dropped off

Guess thats why I don't put all my eggs in one basket.

Wow that is a strange one, think he could have found a better place to park that thing. Then again maybe he was a buck in a past life and old habits die hard.

Had a guy cut a trail right in the staging area in one spot, basically he cut right along the bedding area and put up flagging all over the place so he could find his way out. I'd get mad but he was just trying to hunt harder and further back than any of the other local shmucks so I had to give him partial credit for trying.

It's why I scout in season and out aND cams told me something was up. Hardly a deer in there now. Mature bucks were using it till first of august. 8/6 they all of a sudden showed up on my other ground.

:o
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Wow that's pretty crazy! :o

If it was just sticks and brush I would say somebody probably just made a blind but the plastic is a little excessive.

Let the authorities know. Illegal to live on public land except Alaska I believe. I read a thread about this before somewhere

This is why packing heat is a good idea - no telling who "lives" there and they may or may not want to be found......

good idea. Let the authorities know for sure. Maine perhaps leave a camera up and get a good bed to feed pattern on this guy that way the info can be of use when the authorities need to catch him before he goes nocturnal on you.

I'd wait to call authorities until you kill one of the bucks if he's got them all stacked up at you other spot. Then give him the boot and wait until late season and see if there back there to bang another.

Not to derail the thread, but say the authorities kick him off this piece of public land. Where should he live? Most likely he'll just move to another spot anyway. I figured most guys on here were for small government.
