Kansas advice

Unread postby jbone23 » Wed Sep 07, 2016 1:38 pm

I'm headed to Kansas this weekend to hunt the opener. It will be my first time hunting there area 12 public land to be exact. I have a decent amount of experience hunting the southeast. Is there any tips, advice, recommendations, or insight yall have?

Right now plan is to focus on walk in access areas, hopefully find some good oaks, and possibly hunt the first morning of the season. Super excited about going to the land of the giants. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I hope you get someone on here that has been there... the conservation map is difficult to read, is that entire corner of the state public land? First I would use the search here for best farm / Kansas bedding examples and cyber scout like crazy. If you have certain goals, dont rule out glassing & catch those big tracks. Good luck though man, I hear its tough and pressured along the state lines.
