If i was still a serious advocate for the whole scent process i would have came unglued when i spilt diesel fuel all over my sticks and safety harness yesterday. Must be getting there cuz i haven't thought about it all day!!

Wanna buy it Ozzz? Still plenty of big buck killing left in the bottle. Maybe I will even throw in some old earth scent wafers.

Agreed 100% Dewey! Not to mention I think by not using it you're forced to really think hard about the times you do get busted and how to go about keeping it from happening again without the easy fallback excuse of not spraying enough or washing your clothes enough. Long story short it teaches you woodsmanship which I think goes much further towards killing big bucks in the long run than a dependency on scent elimination products.

I used to use this stuff called "Rack-Coon".... I could hardly stand the smell on my boots while I was sitting in the tree...

A gallon? Jeez. Last year was my first year without spray. It felt good and felt even better saving pennies. Enjoyed hunting a little more also since I wasn't crazy over scent control.

So some of you guys do absolutely nothing for scent control? Just throw on some camo and go?
What happens if there is little to know wind and your stank cloud just hovers around you?
Just curious not trying to be sarcastic

In that case deer will smell you then anyway no matter what you use unless you are in a plastic bubble.

IMHO a "stank cloud" will happen whether you're trying to get rid of the stank or not. (Some people just stink more than others)... The end result will likely be the same. A raised, white, tail...
I can distinctly remember a doe encounter when all my scent control measures were PEAKED. Freshly washed clothes, everything kept in a bin (with dirt and leaves for a cover scent LMAO), I sprayed down, took my time on the way in and didn't sweat, and when that doe came 50 yards downwind of me it was no contest. She didn't need to sniff around at all to know what I was.
*edit - Dewey beat me to it!

Don't knock the wafers. That's nostalgic. Hang one in your truck, makes you feel like a kid again

I spend all the time I worried about scent control now worried about noise reduction. You gotta get on the deer first

A lot of times there is a thermal in play, unless you are talking super flat land then their could be some pooling but it's no different is you are all scent free, if they are in close and it is super calm with pooling scent there are high odds of you getting busted.

I still use scent free detergent. Not because I think it makes me undetectable but because its cheap and it has to help a bit when brush rubs against the cloth on the way to the stand. I think scent can be minimized but NEVER eliminated thats why the wind and milkweed are worth 10,000 gallons of any scent control spray
