Me too, when I was a kid I would string up thread across a bunch of trails around stands then check them every day leading up to the season!

Yea it wasn't that long ago...only 20 years or so.

In 20 years when everyone is using drones to hunt with they will be laughing at back when people actually went out into the woods and sat in a tree. I can hear it now. "I can't believe we actually hunted in the woods back then...we had no idea what we were doing"

I got one of those for a birthday present. I was 13-14. I will still put a stick across a trail I pass to see if something knocks it over while hunting. Gives you a ballpark time and direction

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Yeah I bought 1. Tried it out on a target 1st. All the arrows ended up way short in the dirt. Even when I rewinded the string back on the reel!! Took it off the bow and threw it in a corner of the basement.

That old string and clock helped me kill my bear back in 97'. Since a normal bait hunt is conducted from late afternoon to dark.....We tied them to the bait bucket in case a bear showed up in the morning or late at night . Third evening in ,the watch was stopped at 9:20 am. Killed my bear the next morning . :)

I still own an original trebark flannel shirt. It has to be maybe 32 years old? It still fits 8-)

My uncle used one of those up until a few years ago! Had no clue what it was when I first started hunting. He educated me real quick on them
