First out of state hunt
Well I'm fully committed now. Just bought my MO nonresident license. I've been planning this for the last year. Still trying to get a buddy to come along but he's getting married beginning of October so we'll see if I can steal him for a week. I might try to get out there during the early season for an extended weekend but my main focus will be a 7-10 day hunt end of October/early November. I'm debating on dates to head out there but I'm thinking get out there just before Halloween and stay until the 5th or 6th. I had originally planned on going a week later but their gun season starts the 12th so I think earlier the better and I can still have some rut action around home. Depending on how everything goes and the $ situation I'd like to get back out for 3-5 days in the late season maybe just before or after Christmas.

Does your buddy understand that October is hunting season?
I only had 2 requests for my wedding
1. Not during hunting season
2. Not during hurricane season
Good luck in MO.

Your buddy is worried about his wife not letting him go? He may need to rethink this step in his life! LOL
I got married October 25th in 2013. It was in Puerto Vallarta and it was the best time of the year to have it at the venue we wanted. I was a little torn about having during deer season but figured it was the Lull that time of year. haha.
We were married on the 25th, back to Chicago on the 27th and down to deer camp on the 30th. Never missed a beat that year hunting, my wife knew I was like this when we started dating and never gave me any grief about hunting. In honestly works out better this way, I have a weekend with her on our anniversary, give her an over the top gift and then the next day let her know the days I will be gone hunting and she is still on cloud 9 and says whatever I want to do. It's worked for the first two anniversaries, hopefully it keeps up.
If he can't go a month later, I would start looking for a new hunting partner because before you know it, his wife will have control.

Re: First out of state hunt
I think you made a great choice in MO.
I am thinking of hunting MO as well. Do you have to buy a second license for the second (gun) buck?

PK I think the second archery buck has to come after gun season. Or use a gun tag for second one.
This year they have new regs and new measures when Telechecking harvest. The smartphone app seems nice. My harvest history on it went back to 2006.
I hope to add one or two this season.

It was $225 for 2 turkey tags and 2 either sex archery tags but you can only shoot one buck before nov. 12 and another or two in late archery.

It's not so much that she won't let him get away, it's more how much time off he can get at work. I'm really flexible so if I needed a couple more days I could make it up latter. He can't do that.

I'm assuming fall turkey. I bought the nonres archery and when I printed it off I had 2 turkey and 2 deer tags.

Good luck!
My understanding is that it's just fall. In MO, they're all separated. Right around $225 for each of Archery, Rifle, Spring turkey.
