Re: First out of state hunt
Good luck. I hunt North MO but decided to postpone my early season hunt until next weekend. Like everywhere a late October cold front in North MO always has mature bucks on their feet during daylight but it slows back down the first 4 days of November in my area FOR MATURE BUCKS before ramping back up around the 5th-6th. My favorite day the last 4-5 years has been Nov 10th.

Re: First out of state hunt
Did some scouting this morning in a tucked away corner that I had to cross 3 deep creeks to get to. They were almost dry but with the couple inches of rain were supposed to get the next two days they could fill up fast. Pulled into parking lot and had 2 does standing there. Put on 5 miles looking around and found one good buck track, a couple rubs in a river bottom, and seen 11 does/fawns. I thought about staying to hunt it but I wanted to scout another area and hunt it that took an hour and a half to get to. So I made the trek up to the next spot and am about to head out. I found a couple ridges overlooking a creek with bean fields down below. I'm hoping to find some acorns dropping and set up for the night. I'll hunt here in the morning and maybe check the other end of the property and then make another 45 min drive to the next place. I have 3 more areas that I want to get a look at for sure and hunt at least two of them. I've been up since 5 am Wednesday so I think I'm gonna sleep good tonight!
