Looking to quarter and pack out of difficult areas. Besides the obvious like a pack frame, game bags and knife what else do you take?
I want to get everything together and have it all packed up and ready to grab when needed. Figured I could get some good ideas here.

I usually carry a roll up plastic deer drag to get it to kayak or Game cart. I alyways carry this small kit to take care of deer in woods.

I prefer to skin half the animal and use the skin side of the hide for placing meat on.
Outside of a pack, sharp knife, game bags, and maybe a few contractor garbage bags all I think you need is a strong back.

I was thinking a small tarp would be nice to keep everything clean. This idea would be lighter.

I like the sheet of painters plastic idea. Makes things much easier cleanup wise as well as keeping it all clean. Its a light option too.

I peel the hide back and use it as a drop cloth

I'd rather go with a piece of cloth. I've used the plastic and it's way too slippery in steep terrain. An old bed sheet cut to about 4'x4' works good. I've also gone the laying it on the hide route. But I always seemed to kick dirt up on it cause it's right where your working. The cloth allows you to get the meat away from the work area.
Parachute cord
Wood saw in case you need to cut a pole or poles to hang the meat bags.
Fire making materials.
Ziploc with a couple of tablespoons of bacon grease. For when it's gonna be a late night packing out. Build a fire. Rub the bacon grease on an inner loin and cook. Then enjoy a fresh meal of venison. Really lifts the spirits before lugging the meat out!!!!
